2024 Hyundai Venue SUV Review

The 2024 model year doesn’t mark a huge change from the 2023 Hyundai Venue models. However, Hyundai likes to add value. Even better, 2024 prices don’t represent a substantial increase over 2023 prices.

The Venue SEL has doubled its USB connectivity. This means that your kids or passengers can plug in their smart devices using second-row facing ports.

Adding value to the mid-tier trim, every Venue SEL cockpit has a push button for starting the car. Owners will find it easy to enter or leave and lock up thanks to the SEL Proximity Key.

SE and SEL trim levels have a black on black interior. The seats wear a color that contrasts slightly with the seat bolsters. Plus there is an interesting pattern stitched in white on both the back cushion and seat cushion.

SEL models offer an additional choice that heightens the contrast with gray seats and black bolsters. A double-line stripe adds more visual interest to the cushion design. The second row center seat remains all black, adding even more color contrast.

The standard Limited interior has cloth and leatherette in black. However, the Limited Denim exterior color scheme comes with the available Denim interior. As with the gray color scheme, the second row center seat is a solid color for additional contrast.

If you like to personalize your ride, you’ll appreciate the options available on the Venue. You can choose your favorite color or perhaps the color of your favorite team.

While one person may go for Green Apple, another can enjoy Intense Blue. You can make a statement with Shimmering Silver or show off with Scarlet Red Pearl.

There are four more colors, including Denim. This shade is exclusive for the Limited models, and it comes with a white roof and white mirrors.

The Venue is a small SUV, but the cabin offers 91.9 cubic feet of passenger space. This allows for 41.4 inches of driver legroom.

The front row has a fully adjustable driver’s chair. You can change the height, tilt, and more. It even reclines if you need to pull over for a much-needed rest. Front seat passenger chairs include reclining and sliding functions.

Second-row passengers enjoy more than 38 inches of rear headroom and 34.2 inches of rear legroom. Plus rear headrests can be adjusted, and rear seats can recline.

LATCH attachments provide more safety for up to three rear positions. These helpful devices can secure car seats, booster seats or infant carriers on the second row.

Standard on the 2024 Hyundai Venue, an 8-inch touchscreen anchors the infotainment system. Bluetooth provides hands-free commands. HD Radio ensures the best reception. Apple CarPlay works with iPhones, and Android Auto works with Google Android smartphones.

The driver’s cockpit has a 4.2-inch display to provide an additional stream of information that only the driver needs. Push button start is standard on SEL and Limited Venue trims. BlueLink provides a phone app that interfaces with your car.

The upgraded 8-inch touchscreen includes navigation on the Limited trims. This provides turn-by-turn directions to help you find your destination. Maps appear on screen to assist you further.

The Limited infotainment system includes SiriusXM connectivity that works with your satellite radio subscription. In addition to the four USB ports, the Limited has a wireless charger.

This is a very fuel efficient small SUV. The 121-horsepower engine is well-equipped to handle the road. Plus, with the vehicle’s weight at 2,612 or 2738 pounds, there’s less for each horse to move.

The 121-horsepower engine works with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Ground clearance is 6.7 inches.

Venue fuel economy is 29 mpg in the city. That’s a minimum of 3 mpg better than the average vehicle today. Furthermore, it earns 33 mpg on the highway. That means a combined rate of 31 miles per gallon.

With the seatback in place, travelers have 18.7 cubic feet for their luggage. That’s huge compared to the small trunks on many cars with similar passenger volume.

Cargo space measures 37 cubes when the rear seat is folded flat. The seatback splits 60/40 to offer more cargo room while preserving at least one second-row seat.

With six airbags and crash-absorbing structural aspects, the Venue works hard to keep you safe. Every Venue has vehicle stability management, electronic stability management, and traction controls.

Anti-lock brakes are standard, and the SEL and Limited trims feature front and rear disc brakes. Helping families, a rear occupant alert reminds caregivers to check the backseat before leaving the vehicle.

The Hyundai subcompact SUV costs less than vehicles that don’t have much driver assistance. That’s why shoppers are pleasantly surprised to discover forward collision warnings (FCW) and an avoidance assist are standard. This technology includes pedestrian detection.

Lane departure warnings try to keep the Venue in its lane. At highway speeds, lane keeping assist can maintain your trajectory. The high beams raise and lower automatically, allowing the driver to keep both hands on the wheel at night.

With SEL trims, a blind spot monitor adds another layer of caution. It alerts you to dangers when you want to change lanes. A rear cross traffic alert and the standard rearview camera make parking less tricky.

Limited trims have a more advanced FCW system that watches for cyclists. Hyundai adds radar to work with the cameras. This refines what the system detects and how quickly it responds.

If you are looking at a different brand, you are short-changing yourself on warranty coverage. The 2024 Hyundai Venue comes with up to five years of limited coverage and 10 years of powertrain coverage. 

Rivals simply don’t match these warranties.  If you choose the Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, or Nissan Kicks, your warranties will end by three years and your powertrain warranty by five years.  Don’t you deserve better than that?
